So what IS suspension training?

Suspension Training is working purley with your own body-weight, using straps.  You change foot postitiong, angles, weight distribution, body positioning and movement.  You can also use different speeds, perform plyometric movements, stretches and isometric contraction.

4. Improves muscular endurance

5. Improves power and explosiveness

6. Burns calories and improve body composition

7. Very inexpensive

8. Easy to set up, store, or travel with

9. Increases energy levels

10. Improves flexibility

The great thing about suspension training, is anybody can do it!  All shapes, sizes and strength/fitness levels are able to use this fantastic training tool.

It adds variety to your training and is extremely effective at increasing over-all muscular strength and core stability.

It aids weight-loss and helps to build lean muscle.  Great for over-all body toning!   Fabulus for women and men.

You are able to train all areas of the body, both upper and lower.  Not to mention your core, which is your abdominal and lower-back area.

Here are just a few exercises you are able to do using suspension straps:

Chest press

Rows

Squats

Lunges

Outer-thigh raises

If you are wanting to exercise at home but don't want to purchase expensive, large peieces of equipment, then purchasing suspension straps is a great idea!

They are portable, compact, can be put up in a door frame, your can do loads of different exercises, suitable for all age groups and abilities, safe to use (after using instructional dvd or through a trainer) and provides results such as weight-loss, toning, increased muscular strength and core stability.

As a personal trainer i use suspension straps with my clients and myself.  They provide variation and really do increase strength and core stability.  They help to build lean muscle, not bulk.  I believe suspension training is a fantastic tool to add to your training and should be a staple part of your regular exercise regime.
